I know it’s hard to believe that when these little bottles come into your home they will change your life. I knoooow. Growing up, my mom started using Young Living oils when I was in High School. I vividly remember Thieves Cleaner sitting on the kitchen counter and the beautiful Aria Diffuser glowing in window. She would hand me a few oils and tell me to try them. Honestly, I thought she was weird. I believed that essential oils smelled nice and believed they could help that way. I had no idea that they could be used for anything else until I went to visit my friend Taylor in Oregon.
She had what she called “The Starter Kit” sitting on her table in the living room. I started up the conversation because I had noticed that it was the same brand we had in our house growing up. She told me her story about how Panaway helped her with her back pain and let me borrow it for the weekend. Actually, she let me use all the oils in her kit that weekend and by the end of the trip I was begging my husband to let me order it for an early Christmas gift. (Insert puppy dog eyes here.) He said yes! And little did we know out life was completely about to change.

I can still see the selfie I took with my kit when it arrived and I sent Taylor a picture telling her how excited I was. I am a deep-feeler, emotional kind of gal. When something or someone steps into my life that I know is going to change me for the better, I know it.
I loved all of the oils!!! They were so pretty and made me happy and I started sharing about them right away to anyone who would listen. In the Young Living world there is something that we call “our gateway oils”. Meaning, the oils that made us full on believe that these little bottles are plant magic. In college I got in a terrible car accident on the interstate. I was at a complete stop because the roads were icey and there was a 5 car pile up in front of me. The woman driving behind me hit me going at least 40 mph. Yeah. It hurt.
